ART FOR MOROCCO

Inspired by artist Hamid El Kanbouhi, writer Abdelkader Benali and artist Margi Geerlinks started to organize an online auction of works of art for the victims of the earthquake in Morocco. Works by Kanbouhi, Abdelkader’s photo works, a sculpture by Nour–Eddine Jarram, ink drawings by Safia Boulghalgh and many others.
When I heard of this great initiative (one of many more, so much solidarity among the people of Morocco and the Moroccan diaspora) I went straight to my studio to also pick out work to donate. Work I made in Marrakech (2012) initially seemed most suitable for the situation, but I thought the small sketches in A5 format might be ess suitable for sale. That is why I have chosen works from Tétouan, Street Market (2016) and Chefchaouen, Donkey, one complete image on a larger format paper (20x30cm).
Especially for the occasion, I added extra colors to these two works. Keep an eye on the website, there will be new works added, for different prizes, every day!
