Summer Exhibition Café Eijlders

Upcoming Saturday, July 5, the annual Summer Exhibition will open in Café EIjlders, Korte Leidsedwarsstraat 47, Amsterdam (near Leidseplein). This year’s theme is ‘The city’s birthday’. Because Amsterdam is celebrating its 750th anniversary! The opening starts at 17:30, be welcome! Ten artists from 10x10artist.com are participating with large works: Edith Brouwer, Erik Timmermans, Dorien Bellaar, Stella Burggraaf, Emmeke Eijsbouts, Linda Meulenhoff, Daria Lavrova, Linda Rusconi, Mareike Naumann and me. The exhibition runs until September 5.

I will be participatiing with photography, one large print of 80x60cm on MDF (2nd photo), titled ‘Cell’, two books that I made in collaboration with bartender of café Eijlders and poet Ronald M. Offerman († 2020) made: ‘Iepenstad’ and ‘De stad is de kunst.’ Ronald, or Ron, as most people called him, wrote poems to my photos. Both books are for sale in the café.
In the webshop of www.10x10artist.com you can find ten more of my art photos of elm seeds on the street, 10x10cm C-prints, coming with a frame made of recycled materials.

My inspiration for this exhibition: the city of Amsterdam has more than 75,000 elms and every year around the month of April they release their seeds as festive confetti all over the city: Springsnow! And I also thought it was an opportunity not to be missed, to honor Ron, so that we will continue to think of him.

In the webshop you can buy more work, by various artists, especially for this birthday exhibition!
