The Surinamese Months 2025 sales exhibition concluded on Thursday, August 21st, with a packed evening at the Amstelkerk, featuring Nola Hatterman: lectures by Pim Deul, Ellen de Vries, Renée Koldewijn, poetry and jazz by Mireille Buldeo Rai, and live screen prints by Vrienden van (=Friends of) Nola, Noémi Beyer, Peggy Reiziger, Elspeth Pikaar.
One of the artworks that was sold is the painting For the Love of Mother Earth. A collaboration between Rinaldo Klas and me, painted live, with an audience, in the courtyard of Readytex Art Gallery, Paramaribo, Suriname, February 2025. Rinaldo and I created two paintings in February in honor of Mama Aisa; the larger of the two is on display and for sale at Readytex Art Gallery.

Also, some of my ceramic pendant necklaces were sold. I will keep you posted on the next event where you can see and buy my recent ceramic artworks.
Many thanks to Stadsherstel Amsterdam with Stella van Heezik and curator Myra Winter (both happily posing with their necklaces on the photos above), thank you all participating artists, people who gave lectures/performances and the people who visited the exhibition, events and/or bought art works for a good cause!
The proceeds of this year’s Surinamese Months were over €10,000!! More than enough to renovate the building on Costerstraat, Paramaribo, where CM CoffeeMama is located! Djon Louis Seedorf presented the symbolic check to the daughter of the co-founder of Stadsherstel Amsterdam. The remaining funds will be used for the renovation/maintenance of another building in that city.
At the end of the evening, I bought this screen print of Nola Hatterman, photo taken by Myra Winter. All proceeds of these silk prints go to art education for the youth in Suriname.
