Edith Brouwer and I are collaborating on our FINO ALL ‘ARCADIA project. On pages from a book from 1909 that used to belong to my grandfather, with Italian poetry from the 15th and 16th century, I make watercolor paintings and Edith makes lino prints. We present three pages from the book in a cahier, which we make from more than 100 years old paper from catalogs of the then called Museum Boymans in Rotterdam.
We both learned Italian and love the country, the language, the people, the culture and the food. We are inspired by the words on the pages of the book. And by the atmosphere of the old material.
Each cahier is unique and costs €95. The first five cahiers have already been sold. In the coming months we offer more booklets for sale.
It is also possible to have a cahier made on commission. You can give a word, either Dutch or Italian. We will then make a cahier, especially for you, inspired by your word.
The pages of the book are sized 13 x 18 cm / 26 x 18 cm
