With ‘ASHA’ I was one of the five prize winners of the ZomerSalon Royaal 2023 CBK Zuidoost yesterday, theme ‘skin’. There were three juries. ‘ASHA’, together with ‘Root’ by Arnetia Abbigail, was the favorite of the professional jury, consisting of Su Tomesen, Lard Buurman and Marcel van den Berg.
From the jury report: “In addition to the fact that the work has been skilfully made and has got a clear signature, we are enthusiastic about the coincidence and spontaneity that led to this work. We also appreciated the commitment of the maker to create a new work especially for this exhibition. to make.”
As of next week, all five works will be enlarged and hung in public space on a big wall accross CBK Zuidoost on Anton de Komplein for a whole year.

The other, super cheerful ones that I’m on with Su’s daughter Lina and with Annet Zondervan, CEO of CBK Zuidoost, were made by Djon Seedorf.
