The sales proceeds of the art book Lege handen – Ifassen Ixwan – Empty Hands, published in April 2021, have reached an amount of €280. Today I transferred this amount to MSF, aka Doctors Without Borders or in Dutch: ‘Artsen Zonder Grenzen’. And right now, The Netherlands, this amount will be doubled by sponsors, so … the total amount for COVID-aid is €560! It feels so good to do something positive with this project. Very grateful in many ways. MSF does a great job in helping people in 53 countries, all over the world, during this Pandemic, which, unfortunately is far from over.
Many thanks to Shelley Savor from Canada, who made the drawings, and to Baghdad El Mesbahe from Morocco who spontaneously came up with the Tamazight translation. Both Shelley’s and Baghdad’s works are included in the art book project.
Thanks a lot, Marjolijn de Cocq for your review in newspaper Het Parool. Thank you so much, Momo Bouzia / Observatoire for the live interview. Thank you, Jurjen van der Hoek for your online review. Thanks a lot, EPS Amsterdam, for realizing this beautiful art book through a very complicated printing process. Thank you very much dearest Rogier van der Ploeg for the support. And, last but not least, a big thank you to all the people who purchased the book! There are still some copies left for sale (€20 ex postage), so, if you are interested too, send me an e-mail.
