See previous post: Baghdad reading a story about Yaghfur, the prophet’s donkey, sitting on the front of the stage. You can see me drawing, sitting on the floor. Next to me Asis Aynan.
Meet Baghdad El Mesbahe, writer and electrical engineer and head of Stichting Observatoire. The first time I met him was at a cultural event organized by the @torpedotheater. The theme was ‘donkeys’ and he was among the musicians, writers, philosophers who performed on stage. I remember him sitting on top of the front of the stage, reading a story to the audience, creating an atmosphere as if we were villagers gathering on the square, listening comfortably to his voice. He read one of his story, about Yaghyur, the prophets donkey. His friend and writer Asis Aynan, from Riffian (Northern Morocco) background just like Baghdad, and the instigator of the ‘Berberbibliotheek’ performed too at that ‘Night of the donkey’, reading a story by the famous Apuleius.
Meet Shelley, dear friend and artist whose sixteen paintings are included in the book ‘Lege Handen • Iffasen Ixwan • Empty Hands’
